Lufthansa Consulting Alumni Meeting 2018

The annual meeting of former Lufthansa Consulting employees is growing in popularity. On 13 November, more than 40 guests accepted the aviation consultants’ invitation to their headquarters at Frankfurt Airport to jointly celebrate their 30th anniversary as a limited company and to take a look at the future of the aviation industry and the company.

Managing Director Dr. Andreas Jahnke presented exciting topics for the alumni. Among them was the impressive "Seamless Travel" information stand with a Lego airport model built by Lufthansa Consulting. Its aim was to show the airport/airline interface and pinpoint aspects that could sustainably change the processes occurring there from the passengers’ point of view. At various touch points, the current customer journey is compared with their potential future door-to-door journey. Questions like "How can airlines and airports collaborate to design a seamless passenger travel experience? or "How can digital technology enrich the experience?” were the subject of intense discussion.

Another thrilling presentation was the detailed introduction to the "Lufthansa Group Customer Service Chatbot", an automated chat service based on Facebook Messenger developed by Lufthansa’s Product Development Passenger Services unit.

In addition to the future-oriented program, the cordial exchange among all the participants was once again a highlight of the evening. During animated conversations, the alumni particularly enjoyed the small tartlets that had been specially made for the anniversary celebration with the corresponding Lufthansa Consulting 30-year branding. See you all next year!

Award

Best of Consulting

Lufthansa Consulting has been awarded the coveted consultancy prize "Best of Consulting 2018" by the German weekly business news magazine WirtschaftsWoche. The aviation consultants took part in this competition for the first time and achieved their goal straight away with first place in the category “Competitive Strategy”. The award went to a project which was successfully completed with Czech Airlines (CSA), the national airline of the Czech Republic. Lufthansa Consulting and CSA jointly developed an ancillary revenue strategy and a branded fares concept. The implementation of the overall project resulted in a significant increase in ancillary revenues and thus in a positive operating profit for Czech Airlines.
