Learning - Team-building – Fun

In May 2015 Lufthansa Consulting launched its new boot camp concept, a two-week introduction training into the company’s world with a learning and team-building phase for new employees. From now on, the Boot Camp is scheduled to take place twice a year.

The first week focused on getting to know Lufthansa Consulting’s business and on finding out about company projects. The main topics were managing client expectations, project management, an introduction to the different regional markets by the market leaders and guidance through the consultancy’s corporate identity. Further core information was provided in an overview of business information, controlling, human resources and the legal department, which involved learning about data protection, agreements and legal risks in projects. In addition, the Boot Camp participants gained insights into organizational structure and functions such as the different solution groups, as well as into vital procedures such as travel management in order to prepare themselves for their missions abroad. 

During the second week the new colleagues went through a comprehensive “Structured Problem Solving & Communication” training process in accordance with the proven pyramid thinking principle. Learning about the special requirements of tender and proposal writing was another topic on the agenda. They also completed a Lufthansa security training session with the focus on awareness training and stress management, personal danger indicators and security situations at the respective travel destinations. 

But there was much more than just indoor learning. Social activities were also included in the tough program. As a team building activity, the HR team which had organized the Boot Camp took the participants to a treetop runway. At a barbeque they had an opportunity to taste typical specialties from their new base, Frankfurt, including the traditional apple wine. The fledgling consultants agreed that the boot camp was a great learning experience. It involved challenges but was also great fun, which strengthened the team spirit.

Lufthansa Consulting is posting new offers for junior positions in June 2015. The second Boot Camp will be hosted in October 2015 once the recruitment phase is completed.
