In 2019, our work for the Lufthansa Group once again played a major role in our success. Lufthansa Consulting worked 50% in-house for the Lufthansa Group, its team of experts performing more than 40 projects for Deutsche Lufthansa AG/Lufthansa German Airlines and nine of its subsidiaries in five different countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium. Expertise was provided to the Group companies Miles & More, Lufthansa Technik and AirPlus as well as the Group airlines Lufthansa CityLine, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings/Brussels Airlines and SWISS.
Consulting services focused on the following areas: Customer Experience, Product and Marketing, Operational Excellence and Organizational Development.
Outstanding projects in the fields in which Lufthansa Consulting was involved included the development of a Customer-Centric Offer Design Strategy for the “Travel. Personalized.” mission for the Lufthansa Group Airlines and the New Premium Concept/New Brand Design projects for Lufthansa German Airlines. Here, Lufthansa Consulting supported the concept phase, managed the project and oversaw the implementation measures. As part of the Operational Excellence 2019 initiative for Lufthansa Group Airlines, Lufthansa Consulting identified root causes and supported the implementation of 400 operational optimization measures, which led to significantly fewer flight cancellations, considerably improved punctuality and greatly reduced irregularity costs. Another achievement was the establishment of the new subsidiary Lufthansa Group Security Operations GmbH (LGSO) in order to bundle all Group security services under the LGSO umbrella and thus offer and control professional and high-quality security services from a single source.
