German-Taiwanese Airport Solutions & Aviation Conference in Taipei

As member of a delegation journey with eight renowned German aviation solution providers Lufthansa Consulting’s Head of Market Asia-Pacific, Panagiotis Poligenis, attended the German-Taiwanese Airport Solutions & Aviation Conference early September in Taiwan. The companies were invited by the German Trade office in Taipei, which organized the conference on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.

The conference focused on the Terminal 3 Extension and Aerotropolis project at the Taoyuan International Airport. The German delegates had the opportunity to showcase their company’s recent assignments and possible solutions in regards to this project that is considered as one of the largest in the region with comprehensive opportunities for foreign companies to enter the market.

Lufthansa Consulting has been operating actively in Taiwan successfully for more than 15 years now and has already implemented several projects in the region. At the congress Panagiotis Poligenis emphasized Lufthansa Consulting’s high interest to continue the company’s engagement in Taiwan and the region. Currently, the consultancy is actively supporting Air Asia Company Limited – one of the largest MRO provider in Taiwan – in implementing EASA PART-145 standards and to carry out a state of the art quality management system.

During the conference, the delegates shared their expertise and know-how with local aviation experts and manufacturers. In individual meetings they had the chance to present an overview of their full range of competences, products and services and to extensively exchange experiences with selected Taiwanese companies. Besides the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Ltd., Poligenis met representatives from airlines, air cargo and engineering companies and the Civil Aviation Authority. As one of the conference highlights, the German visitors were provided with an on-site visit of the construction area of Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 3.

Rounding up the journey program, Panagiotis Poligenis greatly appreciated the opportunity to hold a scientific speech at the Department of Aviation & Maritime Transportation Management of the Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan City. He experienced the trip to Taiwan as a great basis for networking, initiating potential new as well as refreshing existing contacts and accelerating Lufthansa Consulting’s foreign commitment.
