Future airport development in Africa

At the 7th Airport Expansion Summit from 25 – 27 February 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda, Lufthansa Consulting’s Head of Market Africa, Catrin Drawer, is represented with a speech titled “Aligning vision and market reality for future African airport development - Why airport expansion should not be considered the “one fits all” solution”.

Her presentation shows that an airport expansion does not always lead to the desired success and that airports and governments are well advised to continue to make rational decisions with regard to a solid market assessment, optimizing their current infrastructure utilization and evaluating all other options to reduce risks.

At the event civil aviation and transport authorities, investors, airport owners, airlines and air traffic experts are going in discussion with consultants, architects, construction companies, equipment providers, technology vendors and service groups, and explore Africa’s airport market and its multiple opportunities.

Best of Consulting

For the second time in a row Lufthansa Consulting has been awarded the renowned consultancy prize "Best of Consulting" by the German weekly business news magazine WirtschaftsWoche. The “Excellent” award went to a successful Air Service Development project with Auckland International Airport, the largest airport of New Zealand and the third busiest international airport in Australasia. Lufthansa Consulting and its client Auckland International Airport are incredibly pleased about the award and that the WirtschaftsWoche jury could also be convinced of this successful project. Both look very much forward to their further productive and prosperous cooperation.
