Strategy

The Lufthansa Consulting approach to airline strategy entails four phases. The first three lead to a global strategy; in the final phase a strategy monitoring system is set up.

  • Project definition and mobilization: During this phase we review the project definition, build up a common understanding and prepare all players for the upcoming project

  • Strategic plan formulation: Next, we analyze the company’s internal and external environment, develop vision and mission statements and formulate corporate goals and objectives. The findings are summarized in the corporate strategic plan, while the implementation plan outlines ways of realizing the future global strategy

  • Strategic planning and implementation: Here, we translate the strategic plan into departmental plans, design organizational structures in line with corporate strategy and define resource requirements. A departmental communication plan is drawn up, outlining ways of publicizing the corporate strategy and securing employee buy-in

  • Monitoring phase : During this phase we design, set up and coach an organizational unit to monitor the implementation of the chosen strategy

Lufthansa Consulting’s broad-based knowledge of the aviation and airline business ensures the best results for the client. All stakeholders and their value requirements must be clearly identified  and used as a basis for establishing the most appropriate future global strategy.
