Project description

Malaysia Airlines is a dynamic, progressive airline serving more than 100 destinations worldwide, with a fleet of more than 100 aircraft. Malaysia Airlines embarked on an ambitious internal program of reform to ensure that the airline continues to remain highly competitive in today’s aggressive aviation market. Part of this initiative is the iOPS Program, which sets out to integrate operational aspects of the MAS business directly aimed at business driven results to the company’s bottom line.
Lufthansa Consulting conducted a series of structured interviews commencing with MAS Senior Management and visited operational workplaces during the investigative process to gather primary information about the workings of MAS. In addition, the team collected, analyzed, reviewed and documented the relevant data, manuals, reports, statistics and other information for the subsequent development of a Report on the Current State of Operations. In a second step, Lufthansa Consulting benchmarked MAS with chosen competitors. The result of this investigation - fostered by additional input from the Lufthansa Consulting experts - led to the definition of the "Desired State of Operations".
Phase 2 of the project will comprise the development of a robust Transformation Blueprint.
