Project description

Romania is a candidate for admission into the EU. It therefore has to establish a market economy compatible with EU principles, without subsidies to state enterprises. TAROM is on of Romania's most important state enterprises and restructuring the company in preparation for privatization represents an important step in the Government's economic reform program.
The EU hat allocated substantial funds to support restructuring efforts through its PHARE program. Due to the particular importance of the TAROM project and the low level of the company's resources, Lufthansa Consulting's assistance for the TAROM restructuring project is being financed entirely by the EU.
