The African airline industry business publication Aviation & Allied Business Journal invited Lufthansa Consulting (LCG) to take part in its 16th Aviation & Allied Business Leadership Conference in Gaborone, Botswana at the end of August. Leaders from African aviation companies and institutions at-tended this well established conference to discuss “Air Transport in Africa: The Challenge of Leadership”.
LCG’s Executive Vice President and Partner Thilo Schmid held a speech concerning “Airlines in turbulence – Turn-around management in a challenging environment”
Mr. Schmid stated that African airlines will face several major challenges in the near future. Considerably reduced market sizes, low seat load factors as well unforeseeable cost structures are developments will be observed in the industry. Solutions and strategies to react to the expected developments were also explained and discussed.
