Lufthansa Consulting and TransCare to bundle consulting competencies

For the first time consulting for air freight-based supply chains from one source.

Lufthansa Consulting’s Air Cargo division is to enter into partnership with one of the leading international logistics consulting companies, the TransCare Group, with immediate effect. An agreement to that effect was recently signed in Frankfurt.

In future, clients throughout the world will benefit from the unique, specific combination of aviation know-how and transport logistics expertise as well as from both partners’ decades-long experience of national and international markets. In these areas of consulting Lufthansa Consulting and TransCare together have successfully executed more than 100 consulting projects in many countries worldwide. The pooling of both companies’ competencies will be customer driven and will focus on two main areas:

  • Aviation logistics infrastructure: Here both companies will plan, design and implement joint
cargo areas for airports, both on- and off-port. Lufthansa Consulting’s specialist airline and
ramp-side expertise combined with TransCare’s soundly based knowledge of global logistics,
transshipment and warehousing processes will create substantial value added for customers
    – predominantly for airports.
  • Aviation supply network: This service offering, which is geared towards shippers (industry
and commerce) and logistics services providers as well as towards airlines, aims to
harmonize optimization efforts in air transport with those of land-based distribution.
Experience gained in countless projects has revealed enormous potential for cost-savings in
    this field.

“Through our cooperation, we are now looking forward to being able to offer these special services. We will connect the aviation industry’s complex supply chain with established procedures in the transport sector and will thus optimize the global supply network for the airfreight and logistics world,” said Werner Schuessler, Managing Director of Lufthansa Consulting GmbH.

“TransCare has many years of proven practical experience in the planning and implementation of complex projects in the field of transport logistics and in the integration of different modes of transport. With Lufthansa Consulting, we can offer tailor-made solutions that will make logistics processes more efficient and thus significantly reduce transport costs,” stressed Ralf Jahncke, President and CEO of TransCare AG.
