In an attempt to keep flying safe in this world, Lufthansa Consulting has started a global campaign to support airlines worldwide in maintaining their safety standards according to IOSA requirements.

The IATA Operational Safety Audit IOSA is an internationally accepted audit system for evaluating an airline’s operational processes and management systems. The audit uses internationally recognized quality management principles and was designed to optimize operational processes and standardize audits to make them comparable on a worldwide basis, thus enabling mutually interested airlines and regulators to accept audit reports.

Thanks to Lufthansa’s own airline experience and recent IOSA audits, Lufthansa Consulting (LCG) is well aware of the importance of setting priorities in the IOSA certification & implementation process. Using general ICAO auditing and flight safety methodology as well as IOSA methodology and structure as a guideline, the LCG experts help airlines to overcome deficiencies and shortcomings in order to meet IOSA standards and prepare for the official IOSA audit.

Since the beginning of the year, Lufthansa Consulting has supported numerous airlines under the terms of a disclosure agreement. In recent months, a number of other carriers have sought assistance from LCG:

• AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines required help in completing its plan of corrective action and process implementation
• Yakutia Airlines has asked LCG to perform an IOSA gap analysis
• Vladivostok Airlines has teamed up with LCG for a IOSA Consulting support package
• Hahn Air, Frankfurt has currently completed its corrective action plan with support from LCG
• Air Botswana requested a proposal for developing a corrective action plan towards IOSA certification. This has already been forwarded to the airline.
