At the end of June 2015 the Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp went into the second round and Lufthansa Consulting once again played an important role in supporting the workshop for young entrepreneurs in this area. Associate Partner, Bruno Boucher, instigated a motivating competition: Five days free consulting for the best business plan - an incentive that inspired the 25 participants right from the start.
The Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp celebrated its first success in June 2014. Nearly 30 Haitians between the ages of 24 to 42 learned how to successfully set up and run a company under the supervision of several high-profile experts. Some of them – for instance Magdalena Selmour with her transportation company “Le Galop Trans Express” - have now set up their own small businesses.
Lufthansa Consulting joined Lufthansa employees from four different Group companies to support the Entrepreneur Camp. Together with HelpAlliance they developed the concept and participated in the camp. The learning units this year were finance, business models, HR classes, sales and marketing as well as product development. Enthusiastic participants of the 2015 camp as well as local trainers and organizations attended the event.
The second Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp ended on 14 August 2015 with a ceremonial celebration event at the University Quisqueya, Haiti and the organizers are already very much looking forward to the sequel in 2016.
