Earlier this year, Lufthansa Consulting invited a delegation of the first privately owned Chinese airline Okay Airways to Frankfurt to take part in various workshops and presentations on commercial and operational airline topics. The program also included a visit to Lufthansa Technik Maintenance International, Lufthansa Flight Training as well as to the Lufthansa Hub Control Center.
Okay Airways was very impressed by the knowledge and the proven track record of the management consultancy. The airline’s management therefore decided to take the findings and useful know-how from the workshops to their home base in China and to invite the consultants to pay a return visit in September 2013. On site in Tianjin, Lufthansa Consulting’s Associate Partner Panagiotis Poligenis and Senior Consultant Marnix Groot hosted a follow-up workshop session and provided valuable insights into airline processes. The two consultants presented their expertise and project experience to an audience of more than 100 Okay Airways employees and guests. After the seminar both parties agreed that they would like to continue their cooperation. Further steps will follow.
Okay Airways was established in 2004 as China’s first private sector carrier. The airline is headquartered in Beijing and connects 40 international destinations within China. Their main hub is located in Tianjin.
